Cody's HERE!!

After being a couple of days past my due date, I finally went in to labor around 9:45 and had contractions every 5 minutes for an hour. The doctor said, "Go to the hospital when you have contractions every 5 minutes for an hour or when your water breaks." SO that's what I did. I waited. Well....we got to the hospital around 11:15 am. So I wouldn't have to walk the parking lot, Jeff dropped me off at the door and there was a nurse taking a patient out so she picked me up and wheeled me upstairs to Labor and Delivery. I met Jeff upstairs in the room where they check and make sure you're really in labor. As soon as they checked me they admitted me. I was already 7 cm. By the next time they checked me I was already 9cm. My doctor was on the road and everyone else was on their way to the hospital. The nurses kept telling me not to push and I said NO. Couldn't help it....

My water broke and three pushes later the doctor walked in the door and Cody was born at the same time. YAY!!!

Cody Raymond Koon
11:58am
7 pounds 9 ounces
20 1/2 inches long
Everything happened so quickly! I'm glad Lauren was able to make it to our house to take care of Elizabeth. After Cody was born, Aunt Lauren and NEW big sister Elizabeth came to the hospital to see Cody.

Another Cody update - 2 more days

Welp, I went to the doctor today and waited an HOUR again in the waiting room. Good thing Elizabeth was there to entertain me. She kept running around and playing with all the other kids. =) (There were a lot of kids there) FINALLY they called me in to the room. Everything checked out fine. I'm 3 of the 10 cm dialated that I need before I can have Cody!!!!!! So they'll schedule an induction on Thursday if I haven't gone to the hospital before then.

Here's a picture of Elizabeth napping before she woke up to go to the doctor.

Isn't that cute. She hugs her doll when she sleeps. =)

Father's Day 2009

How exciting...Elizabeth's first Father's Day that she can actually GIVE her daddy a gift. She started off the day eating her normal pancakes and grape jelly. She likes to dip it.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! I grabbed her and the presents and headed upstairs. It was so cute. Elizabeth held the cards and handed them to Jeff. She sat in his lap and clapped while he opened everything. He got lots of big hugs and kisses.

She had to look pretty for Father's Day. So she wore her CUTE dress that she just got from Nana! I love it!

And of course her hair had to look good to match the dress. We went with pigtails. Doesn't she look great?
Mimi, Papa, Uncle Lance, and Uncle Reid came over so we could have a Father's Day lunch for Papa. We had steak, baked potatos and beans. Elizabeth really liked the steak and baked potato. For dessert we had banana pudding and strawberry cake! YUMMY!

Elizabeth kept calling the other phone in our house and talking on it like she was having a real conversation. It was really funny.

Elizabeth, Me, and CODY! (He's due in 4 days.)
Elizabeth REALLY liked sharing dessert with Mimi!

To work off the sugar, Elizabeth went swimming. =)

Gotta protect those eyes and look fabulous!

It was a great day. I think the dads really enjoyed their Father's Day! I did.

Cody update

Welp, here we are. Cody is 38 and half weeks closer to being born. Just a week and a half to go hopefully. =) I went to the doctor today and waited an hour for them to check my weight and blood pressure. Since all was well, they told me to come back next week. I got the same speech as last time.......if you have contractions 5 or less minutes apart or have a sudden gush of liquid...go to the hospital and they'll call the doctor. Nice. Gee, wait an hour for a ten minute checkup. I told them they needed snacks in the waiting room if they were going to make people wait that long.

Here's a picture of Elizabeth and Jeff playing on the couch. He kept blowing on her head and making her laugh. CUTE!

Pretty PINK Pedicure

Elizabeth kept putting this bottle of fingernail polish in her scooter. At one point she took it out and acted like she was painting her toes. So I did it for her. It's the first time I put polish on her toes. She was really great about letting me put it on, but not so patient when it took a little time to dry.

Elizabeth's first pedicure!

She's checking out Mom's handiwork. It will do....

Just admiring her pretty PINK toes!

She moved on quickly to goldfish.
Her daddy wasn't so thrilled, but he still thought they were cute. I guess painted toes are a sign of growing up. =)

Fun at the park

So it's the third day of summer and 7:00am. What do you do? GO TO THE PARK!!!

Elizabeth was ready to go and still having to wait on me to get out the door. Our neighbors, Katie, Isaac, and Brenna, took us to a cool little park in The Woodlands. Since it was so early, no one was there except us.
Elizabeth had lots of fun playing on the little jungle gym thingy.
I tried to get her to slide down this slide, but it didn't really work that well. What's with the bumps? The only other little slide was a tube and I couldn't get my body up on the platform to send her down. She would have loved it.

Soon after that we discovered the SWINGS!!! She loved the swings. She stayed on that for a while and then went back after exploring a little more.

I got her to slide down the big slide by putting her on about halfway down. I wasn't about to crawl up that whole thing only two weeks from my due date.
She loved it! She ran over and gave me a hug. =) Sweet girl!

Backyard fun!

Elizabeth LOOOOOOOOOOOOVES going outside and she loves hopping around in the pool even more. She sit in the thing even when it's empty. That's dedication.

We finally filled up the pool and she splashed around while I got burned. Yes, she loves standing up and splashing down in the water. She laughs every time.

She's working on her cool ninja moves. Almost there....

I love this picture. She got out of the pool to come see what I was doing. She probably got a sip of water while she was there. What a cutie!

Reid's Graduation

After the last day of school, we traveled over to Huffman to watch Uncle Reid graduate from high school. It was the first time I had ever been to a graduation on a football field. I've always see it in the movies, but hadn't experienced it in real life. Even though it was the beginning of June, the weather wasn't so bad. We parked out on the road and hiked up to the football stadium where we met with the rest of the Koons. Elizabeth was GREAT! She clapped for the graduates as their names were called and they walked across the stage even though the graduation didn't start until her bedtime. She made friends with the people around us. Boy am I glad because she kept trying to climb all over them.

She needed a drink....it was warm.

That's right...Mimi gave her DRUGS! (Just say NO Elizabeth!) She enjoyed shaking them around. :)

There's Reid...about to take the stage.

Sorry the video is a little shaky. I was trying to yell for Reid, watch what I was doing, and make sure Elizabeth didn't fall down the bleachers.

YEA!!!!!!!!! Congratulations REID!!!

Now he's off to the Air Force to do some highly classified job. Nah...I don't know what he's doing. I would bet a million dollars that it has something to do with computers though. =)
